Shawsheen Tech helping soldiers (Burlington Union) In November 2004, Lou Cimaglia and a few friends came up with an idea. A veteran of the Gulf War, Cimaglia often sent packages to other soldiers he knew. Mailing items overseas can be expensive and time-consuming, so Cimaglia, his wife and several others decided to join forces and make their act of generosity a group outing.
